Planning on cutting some aluminum and wondered if anyone had some advice on what is the minimum gap between objects I should expect in order to maximize material usage. I am presently planning on a 1/4 inch spacing but thinking I should be able to go smaller. One plan is to cut out 4.5 inch circular aluminum pieces on my HDM, so I want to order 6061 aluminum that is most cost effective. Appreciate any advice.
Endmill diameter plus 10% would be my suggestion.
Depending on thickness you could use a quite small endmill — I’ve had excellent results w/ our #282Z.
