Gouge on Bitsetter

I bought a used Shapeoko 4 XXL with the Bitsetter installed. It has a decent gouge in it from the previous owner. Should I be concerned? Can I buy just the button part and replace it for peice of mind?

If you have just about anything of a consistent thickness, you could glue it to the top and be good to go.

Since the BitSetter measures the difference in tool-lengths, it doesn’t matter how tall it is.

You can fill this with J.B. Weld or something similar, or replace it:
