Having problems with initialize machine

machine controller restarted unexpectedly
GRBL Error: homing failed

Did this happen in the middle of a job, or just when you tried to initialize the machine after turning it on?
Have you sent the correct configuration data for the machine you have?
Double check the limit switches are all working. You should be able to put something metal (not aluminum) near them, and the indicator light should turn on.

If the machine was working before and stopped it could be a limit switch. If you haven’t gotten it working at all it’s probably the configuration data that is incorrect.

I just got the machine last week, put it together and yesterday I tryed it and everything worked fine
today it doesn’t want to work

I am new at this but spent a lot of money to learn

also got a VFD Spindle kit with it (but no manual) it powers on but no function lights

supposed to be plug and play

Did you try initializing twice? When the machine starts off too close to a homing switch, it’s supposed to back off a few mm and try again. Sometimes it doesn’t back up far enough and it needs to be attempted a second time.

Also, if you can share a video of this happening?

yes tried it quite a few times in all different positions and doe’s the same thing over and over

On a new machine always verify the homing switches work by touching them with a metal object and see if they turn red. If they turn red they are working. Then move the machine all the way to back right corner and turn on and connect but do not initialize Some times you need to adjust the homing switches closer so they will trigger reliably. They should not touch but be very close. You will se in the CM interface when the switches are triggered. This is a common start up issue with new machines.

If you have them showing red when the machine is in the homing position but not in the CM interface verify wiring and connections on the controller.

thanks for all your help
it ends up being a bad harness
they are sending me a new one
