HDM spindle mount holes?

Are there official specs for the two threaded holes on both sides of the HDM spindle mount? I would like to drill out a steel plate to mount a magnetic base mister there. For that matter, are there any known steel plates on the market for that?

For anyone needing this, the holes are M5-0.8 threaded and about 0.8" apart on center. Confirmed by drilling out a plate to mount a Lube Cube…

They’re probably 20mm, which is close to .8"

Word to the wise - dump the magnetic mount.

It will fall off at some point.

Mill yourself a hard mount and save yourself some grief.

Had the same concern so I picked this adapter up from McMaster. Perfect fit. Not sure how well it will hold up, but seems solid. Tried finding an M8 nut plate (to anchor to two points) but couldn’t find one with the hole spacing to match the holes on the spindle mount. A glaring downside of this is that it’s no longer easy to remove, which is only really an issue around not having an overabundance of slack of the air/cool lines around the moving parts to prevent snags on wide XY travel. Anyone have any ideas for a quick detach adapter, either at the main mounting point or at the Lube Cube body?

Couldn’t you fab a 2 piece dovetail mount and screw the base into the spindle clamp and then slide your dovetail into it with your mount you have in the picture?
