HDZ Installation issues

Just received my HDZ, followed the instructions no problems, but the z axis will not move.

I’ve followed the hardware and Software instructions correctly, the z axis motor tries to drive, but cannot move the ballscrew, I’ve toosening the linear rails but that didn’t work either, at a bit of a loss and don’t want to damage it so I’m here for some advice

now im 4+hrs into an install that hasn’t worked

Did you follow the updated instructions at: https://docs.carbide3d.com/assembly/HDZ3_3/HDZ3_3_1.pdf

Were you able to move the Z-axis up/down the full range of motion by hand?

With the power off can you rotate the ball screw to move the Z-axis?

If you continue to have difficulties please write in to us at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to work through this with you.

These instructions need a little more updating to show how to install the inductive sensor, how to reverse the belt wheel on the X motor, and to indicate that the 60mm and 80mm HD mounts prevent the use of the tramming cam bolts.

my issue was tracked to down to the lower bearing being installed to tightly, I just had to drop the bearing out of the housing and place it back the its been working fine so far. thanks to Nick for the support
