which being significantly easier to empty than the Oneida looks to be a big advantage.

which I have the Imperial version of, but haven’t used enough to justify buying the metric version of — the specific difficulty here is I’m trying to scale up projects past what my BR-6 accommodates, hence my specifically wanting a tape, and because I use metric for CAM and have files open and am checking against them, a metric centering tape would save the friction of having to toggle files to Imperial — arguably, that’s what I should do, since it’s familiar and better suited to the scale of multiple foot long boards…

I use a DeWalt leaf blower, then sweep

Every time the CNC is running, if I don’t have something else to do in the same room (prep for next steps, sanding, glue up, etc) I will tidy the shop. Even if I just tidied yesterday. There’s always cleaning to do.

Though I might just put a relief around the finger ratchet up make it easier to pull out. The case it came in is just atrocious.

My though on the tool itself was that one could either grab the round ratchet or a tool left inserted, but I don’t think it’ll be that hard to remove…

The test print of the version I worked up which instead holds a collet and two probing pins worked well:

Created a project as I am learning to use my 3D printer and enter the world of 3D design software. Made some organizers for clamp supplies. (the white trim was a mess up, not a design feature, lol)


This replaces the upcycling of some glued up mdf that came in a shipping package

I’m actually printing an adapter to fit the plastic tray from:

to Gridfinity.

Even if it’s not a perfect fit, a quick pass w/ a file should work:

Fit seems pretty good:

but note that this wants a ~8mm (5/16") thick spacer under one side and some suitable adhesive to make up for the thinness of the connection.

With this done, all that is wanting is a Gridfinity plate to put all this stuff on.

The tricky thing about cutting a Gridfinity baseplate, as opposed to 3D printing is the matter of the quite shallow 90 degree perimeter at the bottom — unless someone knows of a source for a 1.4mm diameter 90 degree V tool — probably it could be dispensed with, but instead, it looks to be viable to use an inside contour with the narrowest 90 degree V tool which one can source (I used a 1/8" diameter Kyocera):

Maybe, but I’d have to get more dimensions or a DXF of the profile to ensure that it won’t run into the vertical portion of the cut.

@TDA Could you provide a dimensioned drawing of the profile of this tool? Also, typo in the page title, Evgraving vice Engraving.
