How to Avoid Low Profile Vase When Machining

Hello,

I’m using the low profile vase to hold a small, but long (72 mm) and narrow (3.3 mm) stock. I only want to fillet the top and ends, and entirely avoid the vise while machining. Please see the attached images. Could you please point me in the right direction on how to do this?

Thank You

If you set the heights to reasonable level then all the rapids should miss the vise. Personally, I don’t like to trust “should” so I would model at least a mock up of the vise and the parallels (I assume?) that you’re using. Once you’ve done this, you can make the vise + parallels the “fixture” in your machining setup. When you run the simulation, Fusion will report the number of collisions with your fixturing and you can click a checkbox to have it pause the simulation if there is a collision.

This gives me the confidence that it really shouldn’t hit my vise.
