Since cleaning my Pro, I have a new and exciting problem! While the z axis seems accurate when manually jogging, when I come to actually run a new file, it’s as though my zero for the z axis shifts up by about 0.75mm.
I’ve tried cutting to a depth of 1mm when jogging, and this is accurate, but when I create a file from Carbide Create, with a pocket of 1mm, its just barely touching the surface of the stock.
I’ve never some across this problem before and I’ve had hundreds of hours of use with this Pro so far - the problem has just appeared since cleaning - where I did remove the gantry - not sure if that is actually related though.
If the manual jogging test is ok this indicates that the machine is mechanically sound, and this is more likely a problem either in the gcode or the zeroing procedure
Can you share the gcode file you are running that does not cut deep enough, as well as details about how you set Z zero ?
Is your bitsetter enabled and if so are how and when are you changing tool after machine initialization?
I eventually noticed that my wasteboard was no longer perfectly perpendicular to the gantry - which does make sense, since I have removed the gantry, and this issue started since then.
I have resurfaced my wasteboard and although that doesn’t really explain the whole cause of my issue, it has fixed it.
Thanks for such a quick response. Have an awesome day
Phil
