Dirt/dust/chips etc getting in the ballscrews?is there any maintenance that should be performed like cleaning and greasing and so on?
You shouldn’t allow material to collect on the screws and get trapped in the threads ---- this is one thing which I prefer about the hobbyist-style of multiple operations in multiple files — wipe off the machine in-between if needed.
That said, they’re pretty high up, and material ought not get up there.
For maintenance, we have a tech note on the lubricant: http://docs.carbide3d.com/article/13-what-oil-should-i-use-to-lubricate-the-linear-bearings included in the Nomad FAQ: http://docs.carbide3d.com/category/9-nomad-883-faq
Is the advice to use the same lubricant on the ball screw as the linear rails?
