I was so lucky to not break something

My machine went a bit crazy this morning. Did a rapid move to current xy super slow. Then crashed on Initialise, then crashed again on Initialise. Both times it had a homing error.

I’ve had my 4 pro for a few years and it’s solid. One of the best things I ever bought. And I do give it a check now and again, and I keep the machine nice and tidy. But obviously not enough.

Checking the shapeoko help on the homing errors I had a quick look at the back right. There I saw a bolt sitting on the gantry. A quick check and I could see it must have vibrated out of the Z motor plate. So lucky because yesterday I had the $120 Datron bits on and could easily have lost one.

Anyhow, blue loctite and back to business. I checked all the other gantry bolts but

all were tight.

Good find. Usually the oiling port bolts in the linear rail bearings wiggle out and people find them laying on the bed of their Shapeoko. Alls well that ends well.
