Sounds a lot more terrifying when my wife says it.
This sounds like a pretty big undertaking for CC. Although some of the code is there to produce the simulation. I use NC Corrector to view & make minor changes to G-Code. But if you’re talking about changing the whole strategy of your cuts, I think the most efficient method would be to start with the file(s) you did the first time, or even re-design it from scratch. Even a tool that converts G-Code to a solid object is most likely going to be faceted (.stl) type data.
I had posted a file on the forum that was created in V6. I had opened it in v7 and saved it I thought as a v7 file. I opened the file in v7 to check it and edit but I could not save it again. Now the file seemed useless because I could not get CM to load the file after saving v6 in v7. However I make backups and went to the back up and restored the directory that my project was in. Now that did not fix my editing of the file problem but I could use the gcode from the original v6 file to cut the project.
This worked well but It seems my v6 file is now orphaned. I moved all my old projects into their own folder so they are segregated so I can open v6 to edit and save them in the future.
So to not make that mistake again is the only option to open up v6 and below files in v6 and below CC? Any work around for opening v6 and below in v7 (or above?) to get the added functionality of v7?
Let me clarify a bit here… My old Gcode files are most likely to be run from Universal Gcode Sender for my 3018 many moon phases ago, not earlier versions of CC.
Basically, I want to load/import straight Gcode into CC, then edit it and save as a C2d file.
I sometimes have difficulty in finding the right words expressing exactly what I mean.
Is this clearer?
