Illustrator to Carbide Create workflow

Hello,
I am trying to figure out a functional workflow for Illustrator to CC.

I have a simple vector file in Illustrator. I expanded it and saved it as an SVG, then imported to CC. I’d post the SVG here but new users are only allowed one image per post.

In attempting to create an Advanced Vcarve (w/o pocket), the simulator shows the the paths created, but there is no actual cutting simulated.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Here’s the svg

This is a path with 65 nodes:

which result in a very, very closely spaced fill area:

hence the fineness/thinness/lack of depth of the V carving.

You can either inset/offset the geometry to achieve a reasonable size or re-work it in Adobe Illustrator to have a reasonable width.

that’s helpful, thanks.
