I recently purchased an SVG file for a crib board. For some reason, the file wont open though. I click on “open” and then select the .svg file but nothing happens. Any ideas why this is happening? or perhaps im missing something.
What program are you trying to use it in? For carbide create, choose the import icon (square with down arrow). It may be there, but really small. Zoom in on your origin or try to scale the image.
Post the file here and we will do our best to look into this with you.
An SVG file can contain many different kinds of data. CC understands only a limited subset, you might have a file that contains data that CC doesn’t understand.
Try opening the file in the free Inkscape. Then you may be able to save it as a plain svg.
Just opening and saving won’t work if you don’t take into account what is causing the problem, usually geometry which is stored and used by reference — it’s like a Lisp machine in that respect.
