Increasing speed of drilling (Z-Axis)

I’ve been doing some research to try and increase the speed of the Z-Axis on my XXL through changing the GRBL settings.

I’ve never done this, and am wondering if anyone has made any changes? I think I found the correct setting to change, $112 - Z Max Rate mm/min

Right now, it looks like the max rate is set to 1000mm/min or about 40 in/min (Vcarve uses in/min).

Can anyone confirm if $112 is the right setting to change, and has anyone had experience doing this?

That’s the correct setting. Be sure to do some tests to make sure your Z axis can handle the speed.

Thanks! I’ll try some tests out on scrap wood of the same species I plan on drilling to be sure it works. Appreciate the reply.
