Initializing BitSetter V2

Bitsetter v2 installed. Initialized shapeoko 5pro without bitsetter recognized first time. Moved spindle over bitsetter and used location. Re-initialized machine, spindle moves into position, prompted to change tool (do so/hit enter), spindle moves over bitsetter, drops down but does not engage top of bitsetter, receiving notification of probe failed.

I’ve been through the process five or six times now, same result.
WHAT AM I MISSING?

Power up and connect to the machine and go to Settings, what shows under Active Inputs?

If you press the button on the BitSetter does it then register as a Probe input?

Which spindle do you have? How low is it mounted? How long/short a tool are you using?

Which version of Carbide Motion are you using?

I would suggest trying the new v6 which is in beta:

The BitSetter and BitZero are interconnected. At least on SO3 and SO4. The SO5 has a different controller but I bet they are still interconnected. The magnet for the BitZero can be touching ground and you get the probe failed message. Make sure the magnet for the BitZero is not touching anything and make a holder to secure the magnet to not cause problems in the future.

The other possibility is the settings in the configuration. So turn off the BitSetter in configuration and then see if the spindle/router can jog down to the level that it would trigger the BitSetter. If it does then the magnet is most likely the cause of your problem. If you are using the C3D router the users sometimes have the router mount up too high and with a short bit you cannot reach the spoilboard and/or the BitSetter.
