Inlay mode missed an area

I’m fairly sure this is because the bit (60 degree V) is too large for the area.

I was doing an inlay on a board using Carbide Create 764. Everything cut great but when I put the plug in, it didn’t fit. I noticed that an area on the plug wasn’t cut. Looking at the tool paths I can see it wasn’t cut but is there a better way to review this prior to cutting so I don’t make the same mistake again? Should I being using a taper endmill instead of a V ?

Reducing the bottom gap in inlay mode will allow the v bit to cut the area.
