Is it possible?

Is it possible to run two instances of Carbide motion for two different machines on one laptop?
I’m thinking that Tod1d’s response to this question applies here to?

That applies to running 2 versions of the program on one computer.
You can run more than one instance. Whether it’s the same version or different versions.

As far as connecting 2 machines, I think it’s possible. You would have to set up 2 Com Ports on 2 USB connections. And then select which COM port you want for each instance.fd
I forget if that option is available in CM. I’m using Gsender & it would see 2 Com ports if I had them set up. It asks which port when I Connect to the machine.

I’m just looking to run one machine at a time.
Since the machine config is different for the 4 Standard and my new (to me) 4 XL I thought I should be able to have the one desktop shortcut for the 4S and another shortcut for the 4XL. Similar to the way you explained how to do the bitsetter / no bitsetter setup.

A better option would be to get a second computer for Carbide Motion.

Agreed but I just got a new laptop a couple months ago after an accidental incident which involved falling wood destroyed my last one. I’m hoping to find a work around instead of cashing out on another one

I’d suggest gettin a raspberry pi to run the second.

I was. Un able to get two machines to work off one computer with my 5pros. They are identical machines and it wouldn’t work.

I buy used off lease refurbished work center computers. Bought another and just use one tv for monitor for both.

Just have a mouse to run the second.

I have one computer that doesn’t suck at running fusion in the shop. But my main design computer is in the other shop with my lasers.
