Today i updated Carbide Create from 316 to 474. As i found out and later read, the library is not copied to the new version. Ok i thought lets remake the library but that is impossible. And yes, i read the post explaining how it works but it does’nt. I think it has to do with the notation of the dot instead of the comma. I cannot change a tool even after copying databases. If i do change the tool it looks as if it works but when i click ok only the diameter box is blinking and nothing happens. I tried changing it to a comma (i know i is not supposed) then it goes to the next field but after the saving the values are 0. And so i am stuck, i either have 0 fields or i cannot get past the blinking diameter field.
Only one solution in my opinion (i am not gonna change my laptop to dot in the OS because i use a lot of excel due to my company) and that is back to the trusted 316 version. But then next problem, where do you find it? I still haven’t found the old version. So the Q, is there a way to roll back your update and if so where do i find the 316 version.
have you looked in your “downloads file folder” for the original 316 install pack you used to install CC ?
Unless you deleted it, it should still be there.
I did install Carbide create about two years ago and yes i clean my computer regularly so i do not have the archive file anymore. I know the dot is needed in all versions but in the new version as writen i can push ok after changing but nothing gets changed it won’t even close the screen. So i figure it has to do with the dot comma issue.
If needed i made a small video of what happens when i try to add tools. I would use the new version if it would work for me but for now i see no other option then to roll back. So i would be pleased with a download link.
If you have difficulties adding tools when the decimal separator is set to period please let us know step-by-step what you do and we’ll do our best to work through this with you.
