Is this wear pattern normal on the z-axis plate?

I started to hear some squeaking and saw some metal shavings at the bottom of the z-axis plate and then saw some grinding marks. Is this normal or do I need to do something here?

There’s a metal stud on the Z-axis front plate that the Z homing switch senses off of, looks like it may have backed out slightly. If you can’t gain access to it to tighten it up enough to get it out of the way, I’d suggest reaching out to support for more help.

Yep, that was it. It had backed out and almost broke off. I was able to get it back on straight, but leaves me wondering why there wasn’t any loctite on the threads for something that seemingly would never have to be touched…I don’t have any on hand but I’ll be getting it and applying some to prevent that from ever happening again.

There should have been. If you don’t mind, can you send a quick email to support@carbide3d.com just so we can record it and track these issue? Helps us improve long term and identify processes that need another look.
