Issues between software and actual product

Hoping for some help here. Using CC with my Shapeoko Pro XXL and did a flag last night. Started out good on the pocketing, but when it went to the V Carve, it messed everything up. The stars are very very crooked. Nowhere near what the actual output should have been. When I looked into my toolpaths and G-Code, nodes and everything, it all seems to be perfect. Shapeoko/Carbide support hasn’t been a help on this. See the photo attached for what it looks like. What can I do to actually get a correct output from my machine? Kind of at a loss here. Happy to answer any questions you may have to help me. Thanks!

Usually if the 3D preview and the actual cut don’t match, this is an electro-mechanical problem causing lost steps.

Which machine do you have?

All wiring in good condition and all connectors secure?

Is it mechanically sound?

Best check for this is to jog to the center of motion for each axis, grab the tip of the spindle (or a probing pin) and then try to shift things in all directions. If the machine moves, investigate what allows the shifting and address it. If the machine couldn’t move smoothly/evenly to the center, determine what caused that and address it.

I have a Shapeoko Pro XXL. Checked all the stepper motors and cleaned the belts, made sure they were tight, but it’s repetitive in its errors. It’s not like it’ll randomly jump. Every left side of the star is higher than the right. So I thought it may be a software issue in carbide create, rather than a mechanical issue. I will try your test out though, I haven’t done that yet

Have you trammed your working area to ensure that it is in-plane with the machine motion?
