Jammed my machine and now it won’t reach bit zero

I tried to find someone else having this issue but I had no idea what to search. Today I was working on a project. It was the first time I had used my cnc in a while. I have the shapeoko pro. It ran into something that I had on the desk next to it and bonded up for a couple of seconds. And now it doesn’t reach as far forward as it did before. It seems like it must have skipped some teeth on the belt or something but I do not know how to go about fixing it. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I realize I can add a couple millimeters to the limit in the carbide motion settings but that doesn’t feel like the right solution

There are folks that know much more than me on the forum that will chime but I would think re-initializing the machine would reset all your stepper motors and you could get your full machine area back. Shut the machine down, boot back up and re-initialize.

That was my first thought. But it still didn’t quite reach.

Power down and remove both Y-axis belts, put a bit of tape on the pulleys (so as to more readily see their rotation) then power up and connect and initialize — when it gets to the Y-axis motors do they turn evenly and in synch?

Inspect the belts and reinstall swapping side for side and end for end if in good shape.

You may want to disable the BitSetter, calibrate for belt stretch:

and then reconfigure the Bitsetter location.
