My x axis isn’t initializing. It brings up an error that something is obstructing the or faulty hardware. When I have the machine off it flows freely and nothing is blocking it. Has anyone else had this problem?
Did you remove the shipping bolt from the X-axis?
Let us know what you find out at support@carbide3d.com and we will do our best to assist.
New machines typically need the proximity switches adjusted a bit. The proximity switch has to be close enough to trigger but not so close the gantry crashes into them. So initialization issues are typical on a new start up.
You can connect but do not initialize. You can check to see if the proximity switches are working by holding a metal object in front of them and they have a red led that illuminates. You can try initialization and get the gantry in the back right position and power off. Then power on and adjust the switches as needed to trigger.
Be sure to do as @WillAdams suggests and check for any shipping bolts or other obstructions like drag chains out of place.
Yes I did. I spoke to support, and we found out it was bad cables
At least yours came out to be bad cables. I’ve been having the same issue with the X Axis for 3 weeks now and we’ve replaced everything including the cables just now and it still hasn’t been fixed
Look at the wiring on the limit switches. my wires were crossed and had to flip the clip over.
