Made a board to have handy for Router Speeds. MGF covered in Shellac. Used a stain to highlight the lettering. Being MDF it soaked up the stain. Got to learn I guess. Kind of like it. Not what I was after. I works

From the spreading of stain you can see why mdf soaks up so much moisture.
