Larger Bits to cut the inside of a box

I am very new with my router and this web page so this may have been asked before. Has anyone tried or had success using a larger than 1/4" bit to cut out the inside of a jewelry box?

Yes, folks have used larger tooling — 8mm (5/16") in particular is far more rigid, yet is still w/in the machine’s capabilities.

Larger bowl bits have been used as well, but I’d recommend using a smaller tool to clear the bulk of the material — w/ an adaptive/trochoidal toolpath it’s possible to remove material very quickly.
