It’s not CNC related but it is wood… 
… I’ve been dragging this piece of willow around for nearly 40 years and finally decided it was time to hand carve it into a walking stick. I did most of the work on it while sitting beside my machine as it cut projects. After a lot of carving out the knots and sanding I gave it two coats of clear varathane and added the rawhide wrist strap.

I have an absurd amount of crepe myrtle trunks to use for this. Looks great!
I just started sanding on 1 got a long way to go! Yours looks awesome!

Me too. Crepe Myrtle is pretty wood.

@Jeffish I used to work on main frame computers in big data centers. To power on one of those machines took up to an hour for POST just to get to the point of loading an OS. I called it watching the paint dry or the grass growing. The same thing happens while sitting in front of my Shapeoko watching the paint dry waiting and waiting. I worked on computers from the very beginning of the first DOS ones to main frame type computers and spend likely years watching the paint dry. So I told my daughter to have on my Tombstone “Waited on Computers Most of his Life”. May have to add CNC
