Very nice, no matter if it’s number one or not!
Perhaps you can explain for the folks on here what you process was?
Cut or engrave the clear material?
Which LED product was used etc?
Troy, don’t know if you’ve found it yet, but there’s a specially shaped bit for some of those strips.
EDIT: Here’s one example at ebay.
Second hand? nahhhh just broke in by someone else
It looks in really good shape the little I see (no marks on the paint and the rails I can see look clean, etc)
Following…hoping to get the LED info! ![]()
Looks like this type of “LED neon strip”: 12V Flexible LED Strip Waterproof Sign Neon Lights Silicone Tube 1M 5M or 50M | eBay
I have a couple of lengths of it, and it has a great look. I used mine in a 3D printed holder, so I don’t have a bit recommendation for them. You will probably have to buy the light strip and then measure it, because I bought a couple of different LED strips, and they look the same but have dimensions just different enough that one slot may be too wide or too deep from one manufacturer to another.
I bought the supplies on alibaba. This one is 8mm seperate led strip. The led are separate from the silicone diffuser…
It takes a special bit that cuts a grove for the diffuser.
Thanks for all the info.
I have been making the signs for years. Same process as explained. Here are a few examples. I really enjoy making them!
Really nice signs, it seems mastering cutting of the silicone strips really makes these signs “shine”!! I assumed the LED strips jumpers off a single power supply, I can barely see a few of them.
Yes I use 12 volt lights and solder them all together using those coated thin wires. They are hardly visible when finished. I mostly use the 8mm silicone. Lots of fun making them. I buy all the materials from AliExpress.
