So I have not been able to find a good video explanation how to finish a pocket tool path around letters, to get rid of the tool markings left around the letters. Can someone direct me to a video? I have come across a couple, but not for Carbide Create Pro.
While not a video, my approach to this is pretty simple — evaluate the interaction between Max Depth (of the Pocket/clearing option for the Advanced V-carve) and Depth per Pass — so if cutting to a Max Depth of 0.5" w/ at a Depth per Pass of 0.125", then four full-depth passes are made. If one changes the Depth per Pass to 0.124", then four only slightly shallower passes will be made, followed by a fifth removing only 0.004" of thickness, effectively a finishing pass.
Other considerations are of course tool size/diameter and tram and the condition of the machine/motion components.

Alternative approaches include:
- lean into it — inset by the radius of a suitable tool and cut a texture into the bottom of the pocket
- make an actual finishing pass by leaving at least a chipload of thickness uncut, then insetting by radius and cutting a Facing toolpath at the bottom of the pocket to the final depth, orienting it along the grain of the wood
