Linear Copy not bringing Toolpaths to copies

I have a design that I have created with all the layers and toolpaths set up and I am ready to duplicate it and cut 4 at a time from the stock.

I select everything and go to Linear array.

I thought that having Duplicate Toolpath Links checked they would bring the toolpaths over the new copies, but when I look at the toolpaths, they only exist on the original.

What am I doing wrong? Or am I misunderstanding what should be happening?

I just noticed that the layers do not seem to copy over. Is that the issue since I have all the toolpaths associated with layers?

My file is attached and thanks for the help. Appreciate all the great information and people here.

New objects are created on the current layer.

Linear Array makes new objects.

Hence, the behaviour you describe.

Unfortunately, there is no way to keep the layers - the copies all go to the current layer.

So, one approach would be to hide all layers except one, make it active, and do a linear array of that. Keep switching through all the layers, so you are only working with things from one layer at a time.

It’s a bit tedious, but not very difficult. The linear array options are ‘sticky’, so once you set them you can just bang them out.
