I am new to the community and new to CNC. I didn’t realize that a laptop was needed or having the unit only a few feet from my PC.
Is it possible to run a 40’ - 50’ printer cable from my PC to the unit?
Also, does the dust in the work room affect the electronics on the VFD and the CPU? Do I have to enclose the units and provide extra ventilation?
We recommend only a 2M (6.6 ft.) cable.
It’s also quite interactive using the machine — you need to be able to see the screen and work with the program and it displaying information about the current state of the machine.
We include a Sweepy dust boot which should keep the dust under control — it helps the longevity of the electronics to keep dust out of the works and your lungs will thank you.
