Lost files with Big Sur

I recently installed the OS Big Sur on the laptop I use with my Shapeko XL and then I updated Carbide Create. Now the files I had for Carbide Create are all gone! What happened, was it Big Sur or the Carbide Create update that removed the files?

The Carbide Create updating won’t touch any files which aren’t in the .app destination when the application is dragged to where you chose to install it.

I seem to recall a Windows version of Carbide Create I used in the past would open the Program Files\CarbideCreate directory and offer that as the target folder when you saved files after a fresh install.

If that happens on the Mac, and someone took it for advice rather than a sub-optimal default, that might explain this?

Type a known name of a CC file or its extension and do a search. Also check in your iCloud Drive.
