I have the 5.1 Pro (6 months old) and would appreciate feedback on the proces of lubricating the top linear bearings and rails to “trickle” down to the lower bearings. I am 74, both shoulders and my neck are back so really hard to stoop down and try to lubricate them and I don’t want to remove or raise the top bearings. I have excellent dust collection and wipe my machine down after every day I use it, I am a hobbist woodworker, every 2 weeks I wipe the rails and ball screws down with the recommended oil.

The top bearings have a screw you remove to oil them. The lower bearing requires removing the Z. However if you use a pippette and oil the top bearings today and tomorrow oil them again the oil will trickle down. After oiling your bearings many times the oil runs down the rails and drips on your spoilboard and/or project. So when parking the Z for shutdown put a paper towel under the Z to catch any excess oil. Also before starting a job wipe off the bottom of your Z rails to keep excess oil from dripping on your project. This excess oil dripping usually lasts a couple of days.
