While machining this part, the z axis plunged into the stock several times.
I still can not figure out why. I did notice however, that it is modeled into the toolpath. I have recompiled the toolpath and even started fresh with a blank canvas. The locations of the crashes did not change or go away.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Is this the only solution? I would really rather not rely on a beta version.

Upload the file (or send it in to support@carbide3d.com ) and we can look at it in both the current stable and beta versions.

I installed the new version and compiled a new finish pass. The unusual Z axis moves are still present.

You probably have hole in your 3d, zoom in preview and you will see them
