I am doing a v-carve bible verse that I have done once before with no problem. Using the same program, just altered for the current board’s length, width and thickness, the program gets about halfway through the carve and just stops and sits there. This has happened twice now.

Can you provide the file, as well as a photo of the screen on your computer when it freezes? Is it at the exact same point?
BE STILL 4 FT BENCH.c2d (368 KB)
It was at the same exact place both times. The screen says connect to machine. It’s like it just disconnected by itself but didn’t shut off.
Is it possible that the computer is going to sleep? if you start it up and walk away, it should get to the same spot in the same amount of time for it to then go to sleep and disconnect. I have my control computer set to never go to sleep to avoid anything like that happening.
Most disconnects are static related. Once you eliminate static then check your usb connections. Sometimes the female connectors on the controller and/or the computer get sloppy after a lot of insertions. On the Shapeoko side get a wire tie stick on and tie the connector up so there is no strain on it.
I don’t think that is what it is but I will disable sleep mode
