Making Templates For Lettering

I’m trying to make a reusable template for aligning letters. Kind of like for sign making. I want to have a template, and then cut out all the letters and use the template to align them. The problem I’m running in to is that the letters are crisp angles (Like “A”) and what I’m cutting out for a template is rounded (because of the bit). How do I make crisp angles on a pocket?

You may want to consider a font which is the result of the implementation of such a template:

Scott, look up “dog bone” corners. My Vectric software has that option. Basically, what it is is to add room in the corners of the template (over cut) so the corners of the letters will not touch there.

One can easily add an over cut there with a circle and trim tool.
