Manual VFD Control

Hey Folks - VFD newbie here for the Shapeoko 4. Just got the Carbide 3D spindle kit setup tonight, made some first cuts, works great!

When I used to use the router, I got in the (albeit, bad habit) of sometimes manually adjusting RPM while machining if I audibly could tell I got a feed / speed wrong in CAM.

I know alternatively I could slow feed rate to essentially accomplish the same thing, but is there a way to manually control the VFD RPM, essentially overriding the GRBL provided value?

Thanks!

Use a different G-Code sender that has spindle speed override.

Thanks! Do you have one that you recommend? I haven’t ventured out of Carbide Motion yet.

I just looked up UGS & it does have spindle override (as well as rapid override)
I’m still using CM as well, so I haven’t tried any others yet.

I keep praying they will add spindle override to CM and possibly add smaller 5% increment option to feed override. It would make dialing in feeds wayyyy smoother. Some sort of external panel with 2 override potentiometers, a feed hold, and E-stop button would be would be amazing. Like the Tormach console.
