I’ve used a 1" surfacing endmill on my 65mm spindle with no problem
We sell the McFly for use with our machines:
and specifically note that it wants an 8mm collet as discussed on our “El Ocho” page:
65mm ER11 spindle, I use the 1” cutter for flattening. As with any bit you need to understand the DOC and feeds and speeds with larger diameter cutter surfaces. I don’t have a need to use a larger diameter cutter at the time. If I get to this point I will upgrade to the 80mm spindle for several advantages over the 65mm.
