I would love to be able to take measurements from within modeling.
There have been many times that I’ve wanted to be sure of a particular dimension/s of a design feature and/or component of a design. For e.g. When using the ‘round’ option and giving the ‘angle’, I’m not always 100% sure of the finish height of the component after the angle has been given, so some sort of measuring tool within the modeling section would be such a great help. 
If you mouse over a given area:
The Z-height is given in the status bar at the lower left — is that not what you are asking for?

I think so, wow! I didn’t notice this before.
So, literally, hovering over the newly formed shape gives the finish height of the round over? As in your example here where it says 8.149mm?
Yes, that is it exactly — the Status Line has been a huge improvement for me.
