Hey,
Is there a way of creating a molding tool path like vcarve has. I am looking to create a sign and cut a 3d profile (like a wavy flag)?
I believe this would be the 3D Roughing and Finishing toolpaths in Carbide Create Pro:
I have CC pro but I have not been able to figure out how to do it in just CC in the past I designed in Fusion 360 and imported as an STL. I recently was playing around in vetric vcarve and it has that feature built in.
It should just be a matter of importing the STL:
https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/create-pro/3d-tool-import-stl/
then creating 3D toolpaths:
Is there way of doing it completely in CC
Draw up geometry which completely describes the 3D shape to be cut and assign No Offset Contour Toolpaths to cut as deeply as needed.
The wavy element of it would likely need to be generated elsewhere an imported as a height map.
If you are just looking for a wavy file to start with for a project check out the one from @Merick01 his files are here:
I have used the wavy flag file in Vectric but I am sure it would work ok in CC Pro as well.
He does the actual modeling in Fusion.
His YouTube is here: https://youtube.com/@ericksonwoodworking?si=WAEduVguy0RFnlQH
Vectric has the capability to have a profile sketch follow a vector to create a molding edge but in CC you would have to model it or import from another application that has 3D
Modeling.
Thank you I will take a look at the link.
