Where should the spindle be mounted? I have mine in the holder about 1/2 way, but I’m having problems with where z-zero is on my machine.

FWIW, my preference is to chuck up the shortest tool I plan on using, then adjust things so that it just barely touches the top of the aluminum T-track.
