Need help limit switch problem

First time user set up the machine as directed everything went well until I tried to set limit switches. Did what instructions told me but every time I try to run set up in carbid motion it comes up error limit switch not found the z axis hits the switch and makes a bad sound sound. I opened the cover on the controls if I touch the switch by hand it works the light goes on

We have a basic page on troubleshooting the switches at: https://docs.carbide3d.com/software-faq/home-switch-troubleshooting/

Please check that each switch lights up the matching light, and that mechanically the machine can close each switch.

If you continue to have difficulties drop us a line a support@carbide3d.com

Sounds like your z switch might not be connected to the correct connector? I would recommend checking that Z does go to Z again (and X to X and Y to Y).
