Today I received a sanding pencil as an early birthday present. It’s rechargable, has multiple shaped attachments and sanding pads to match. I tried it on a small piece of scrap and it seemed to work pretty good. It’s small so it should help getting into those tight spots where my fat fingers cant ![]()
I bought a similar device that was not rechargeable but all the other stuff looked the same. It was highly rated. I was pretty disappointed with its performance and figured that all the people that love it must be using balsa.
I am interested to hear your experiences.
I bought one of these. Still in the package …
Dremel A577 Detailer’s Grip Attachment
I tried to add a link, but the Dremel link to the item to some other item.
I have a hard time hanging onto small items, I figured this would work.
What did you end up buying ? 20 char
The one I bought was the Microlux Micro Sander.
Interestingly it now shows as unavailable on Amazon but it did have really good reviews. Of course you have to take those with a grain of salt.
Maybe my expectations were just too high.
Are the attachments that hold the sandpaper some sort of plastic?
Hmm…. I wonder what profile of attachments could be 3D printed for use? ![]()
Yes they are plastic attatchments. I’m sure they could be 3D printed if needed.
I just used it quickly on a peice of cherry with the round attachment and it worked ok… I cleaned up some fuzzies and endmill marks no problem at all. I didn’t apply a lot of pressure to it since the attachments are plastic.
I think for small area light detail sanding it should be ok
