My new Spindle and VFD kit arrived today so after installing it and successfully completing the setup in CM there’s no power light on the front button. When I turn on the main power switch beside the 110v cord the display flashes “Poff” for a second then continuously flashes “0.0”.
I rechecked all the wiring and setup and everything is correct.
I put in a support ticket but thought I’d throw it out there and see if anyone has seen this before.
Ok so I now have a red light on the front power button. Helps if I plug the spindle harness into the VFD… Duhhhh… Still showing the same as described above
The 0.0 display is what you get when it has not seen a S command.
Did you try the Quick Spindle warmup ?
Yes I tried the warmup a few times but it doesn’t do anything. The fans are not spinning either …Support has contacted me for pics so I’m waiting on them for a response to what I sent them.
Someone posted in the last several weeks that one of the 110v spade connectors inside the VFD enclosure had actually come loose. The connector was plugged and all lived happily ever after!
@Redlander Yeah Tim I remembered that so I pulled the front cover off and had a look but all the connections were good. I also recall someone talking about a fuse that had blown but I couldn’t see any fuses.
Fleming at support asked for pics so I sent him a video showing the VFD but it was close to end of day on the west coast so I’ll likely hear back from him tomorrow.
No rush since I don’t have anything queued up yet. I just want to get it running and educate myself on the differences from my old router.
It will get sorted out and you will wonder why you waited so long to get the spindle!!
YEAH!!! IT WORKS!!!
Sorry for the caps but now I’m really happy.
I didn’t do anything while waiting for support today so I figured what the heck I’ll try connecting, initialising and run a spindle warmup and wouldn’t you know it the thing worked.
Now all I need to do is figure out how to get my Stealthsonic to work through the auto start switch…
Can’t wait to get cutting!
Thanks for all the suggestions guys… I appreciate your help ![]()
Any sense of what the problem was or why it worked this time around? Looking to get similar setup soon and interested in learning all I can.
@NYC_Woodworker_17 nothing stood out. I guess it just needed to sit overnight… ![]()
I unplugged everything and when I plugged it all back in it connected right away and the spindle warmup ran perfectly…
