I was wondering if anyone else on here uses a 3018Pro CNC machine. If so, are there any settings I need to be aware off for my machine?, or can I just use the Create software to design and obtain the g-code and watch it produce what I design.
I understand about the settings for the wood, the only small issue I may have is using the incorrect tool/bit and incorrect settings for anything else I have not done.
I am watching some you tube videos for my machine, but would like other peoples views as well.
Another question, I used to do plastic model kits, what are the best websites to download free wooden model kits I can cnc out on my machine?
We have seen a few posts about folks using Carbide Create to generate g-code for their 3018 machine, you just need to select the “GRBL” post-processor (under Edit / Select post-processor)
The correct tools and feeds and speeds for different materials is something you will have to learn by experimenting. Carbide Create includes a “tool database” that provides recommended setting for a wide range of tool/material combination, but those are for Carbide3d’s Shapeoko and Nomad machines, so they would need to be dialed down to match the capabilities of a 3018 and its limited spindle power.
