Any ideas of what could be causing this? I’ve already updated the lettering to a standard font and it has slight improvement.
what is the max cut depth the bit is set to?
for 302 I normally hesitate to go deeper than 0.1" per pass…
(this looks like a mechanical thing, either because something is loose or because forces are too high)

Using a finer grained and harder wood will help as well, but I agree that checking the feeds and speeds and ensuring that things are mechanically sound should also be done.
