Node Edit Question

Under “Node Edit” is there a way of selecting a node or nodes, choose a direction then add a precise distance for that node or nodes to move? As opposed to click and drag and hope you get it right.

No. The only thing which can be done is to put the desired destination at a grid point, then go into Node Edit mode, and allow snapping to put the node at the desired point.

Sometimes I draw a circle or a square to a specific size as to a reference for where to pull nodes to. for instance if I have a router bit that’s 16th of an inch I’ll make a circle that size to see if the router bit I’ll get into the areas that I’ve drawn

You can highlight a group of nodes and move them all together

Otherwise moving notes is a manual and a bit tedious process

I pretty much have a love-hate relationship with the snap to grid

I turn it off & on often. I wish there was a separate “Snap to Node” toggle, and that it worked in Node Edit.

I think there’s a request out there for a key press to override the snap to node setting and force one or the other while it’s pressed. That would be ideal.
