After making some adjustment in CorelDraw and saving as an SVG file, when I import to CC it adds nodes to the design and doesn’t allow me to select the whole design unless I select all the nodes and combine them. Then it doesn’t allow me to create a tool path. What causes this?
Please post the SVG file and let us know step-by-step what you are doing and we will do our best to look into this with you.
Please note that some operations in Carbide Create convert Curves into poly lines.
I use Inkscape to convert bit map images to SVG. During the conversion I get some strange nodes and it may just be the nature of the conversions. I usually have to go in and blow the svg up on the screen and manually edit the nodes to get rid of little jags and unwanted things. Additionally I generally get what you might call an offset. I just usually delete the offset to get a cleaner image. Some times you have to spend 30-60 minutes cleaning up an svg. It is a pain but the effort in the end is worth it. I do find it tedious but necessary to get a good clean image that does not take forever to carve.
Nodes in files loaded from SVG should exactly match the original geometry.
If you have a file where that doesn’t happen, send it in to support@carbide3d.com and we will look into it.
