Just bought Shapeoko Pro XXL used and when initializing it goes to the right and acting like it’s trying to keep going making a grinding noise. Not homing correctly. I tried to upload a video but it wont let me. Need help please.
When you ran the setup did you select the correct machine and Z axis from the dropdown list? Try testing the homing switches by holding an allen key or small wrench in front of the sensor and see if the light comes on.
Yes. All the lights come on but it doesn’t stop the X axis. It keeps coming even if I put an allen wrench in front of it.
The machine should start out at the machine origin which should also be the workspace origin until that is changed.
Big things are:
-
check that all homing switches work as expected and signal as the correct axis
-
check that the configuration is correct:
- verify that the machine motion is correct by bypassing the homing switches:
Yes select Shapeoko Pro. The last link on Will’s reply is a good one for troubleshooting
Thank you. I’ll read through this and see if it helps. First time using a Shapeoko Pro CNC.
Still can’t get my Shapeoko to work. Here is the picture of the code. I bought it used. The guy I bought it off of showed that it worked. After hauling it in the back of a truck to my house and setting it up on the table, it won’t work. Need help please.
I know this may be a long shot, but my xxl does this chattering sometimes and I have found that the power cable for the router is interfering with allowing the carrage to make it all the way to the right. Might be worth checking to make sure all your cables are loose enough to allow full travel.
Just a thought.
