Version 6 has an improved look and included some cool added features but I noticed a couple changes in the software that are making it a little more difficult to create and a bit frustrating
You now have to hit enter every time you enter in a value for a vector - then tab over to the next field. It will even make you think it is taking the value until you move on and find out the input wasn’t registered because the extra “enter” step wasn’t used. I found this very annoying when the previous versions are a lot more seamless by allowing you to input the data you need and simply just tab over to the next field.
Ctrl + C doesn’t simply make you a copy anymore. Now you have to press Ctrl + D, open a dialogue window, and then click how many copies you want to make. This is even more frustrating as in previous versions I could accomplish the same task with the press of two buttons, however many times I want.
These are only small changes I know, but are enough for me to revert to version 5 because it’s just easier to use.
My two cents for what it’s worth. Otherwise I freakin love Carbide Create and Shapeoko Team thanks for such a awesome product!!
I never noticed the tab issue until you pointed that out. I can definitely see how that would be annoying. I have not made anything new where that came up lately.
With regards to the Ctrl + C that still works for me. I can Ctrl + C for copying and Ctrl + V to paste it in version 620.
Ctrl-C makes a copy of a selected element and stuffs it into memory. Use Ctrl-V to recall it from memory. A copy of the element will be placed centered on the cursor position. This is a one time operation. Ctrl-V doesn’t have to follow immediately after Ctrl-C.
In version 5, Ctrl+C copy-and-pasted automatically as soon as you pressed those keys - which is odd and unusual but something people using version 5 got used to.
I think if you weren’t aware of the change in V6 to this operation, it would be easy to conclude that it no longer worked.
