Permanent Black (or Color) Text

Hi - Not sure if this has been covered in the past (I’m new to this forum)… Just started using my Shapeoko Pro and was wondering if there was a technique for getting small black or color text ‘printed’ (or etched) onto pdf or wood workpiece.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

Mark

There are a couple of techniques for this sort of thing:

  • use a vinyl mask, cut through it, then paint
  • cut the lettering, fill with epoxy, then machine it level

one possibility would be to use a paint pen to draw the lettering.

On youtube the IDC channel advertised a pen to draw with your CNC.

Just remember this youtube channel is about a person selling stuff. He has good advice but is selling bits and other things.

There is the Quick Draw Pen Holder from carbide 3d as an option.

Here’s the Doc for it.

And a video, although it’s a few years old.

Hope this is helpful.
