…though I included other directions for good measure. For example, I was thinking that a rotation of the whole router mount or z carriage from ~perpendicular to some angular offset about the y axis could cause the bit to be at some minimum during the passes in one direction, with the forces rotating things and resulting in some maximum height when doing the other way.
